STATEMENT
The work of Daniella van Hemelryck examines the persistence of natural, atmospheric, and stellar environments as systems in continuous transformation across multiple spatial and temporal scales.
Certain series articulate this investigation through atmosphere, light, and color alone, constructing environments without reference to figures or events. Others extend toward planetary and cosmic conditions, addressing celestial atmospheres and processes of stellar evolution.
SIGLO XXX anchors this field by reintroducing human history solely as residue. Abandoned statues, altered ecosystems, and biological mutations emerge as traces of a past presence, situated within environments that continue to evolve after humanity has left Earth.
Across the work, a coherent framework unfolds in which light conditions, deep time, and cultural aftermath coexist, offering multiple perspectives on what persists and what transforms beyond humanity.
